The only question I had was whether or not you need to include your gender when you are registering for a class. Some classes may keep track of how many males and females are in the class, or they only accept equal amount of males as females. That was basically the only thing that I was wondering about.
Chapter 6 Discussion
I have encountered alot of “internet myths.” Most of it is found on myspace. There are always messages and links that tell you that you can find your true love with the click of a button. And if you don’t then you will have bad luck for 7 years and stuff like that. Those are the main things of phony e-mails that I recieve. When you look up information on the internet, you need to make sure that the site you are using has alot of credible cites where they got their information.
I think a very poorly designed website is foxsports.com. It isn’t very good mainly because everything takes so long to load compared to other sites. Another reason that I don’t like this site is because I don’t really like the set up that when you scroll across a main topic, little subtopics will appear and you must click on one before it disappears. A very good website is myspace.com. It is very good becasue it is really easy to navigate and you express yourself. Yet you have the control to permitt who and who can’t see your site.
Chapter 5 Lab
The use of wireless technology has been increasing greatly in the last few years. Now there is wireless gaming, audio, and video. Wireless gaming and audio is probably the most used out of all the wireless technology out there. Except for wireless phones and computers. The main purpose of wireless gaming is to connect with other users in the world without the hassel of a lot of cables. A person will often have a wireless internet hook up. This works by plugging in a wireless internet adapter into the back of the console into the ethernet cable hook up slot. You need a router in order to have wireless internet throughout the house. Another thing that is wireless is audio. Bose makes an excellent wireless surround sound system. The way this works is you first need to sync in all the speakers so that it is with the main sub and circuits. Then all you do is set the speakers where you want them and listen to some great surround sound.
Chapter 5 Discussion
1. Network technology is changing rapidly. What problems do networks still need to solve? Do you think networks themselves will be eclipsed by some other type of technology? If so, what characteristics would it have?
The problems that need to be solved is the abilitly to keep the network running without any crashes in the network. I don’t think that networks will be eclipsed by any other type of technology for a long time. Networks are like the perfect system. You can keep files and that sort of thing without having to use the same computer. This works great in schools and at work.
2. The Internet has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years and is now part of global life. As the “network of networks,” what special technological and ethical problems do Internet users need to solve? Are the technological and ethical problems any different for those who create technology for the Internet? Do you think the growth of the Internet should be limited?
The ethical problem is people are spending all their time on the computer. Yes they are different than the creators because the creators made it in order to do work, research, and to better the community. The growth of the Internet should be limitless. The more people that use the Internet, will help the people become more unified in a way. Due to the fact the they have online clubs and stuff like that.
3. What is your idea of the ideal Internet access? What is necessary to make that happen?
The ideal Internet access is a free Internet access. No one should have to pay in order to be able to look up things that will better their knowledge or help them in any way.
4. Home networks are becoming increasingly popular. Why would anyone want a home network? What advantages do they offer to home users? What are the drawbacks? Have you set up a home network before, even something as simple as a router for wireless laptops and printers. If so, share your experience.
People use networks because they are more secure because you can block sites and such things in order to protect the computers as well as the individuals. Home users get the advantage of having multiple computers without having to have multiple connections. A drawback is that it is expensive because you need to get a router and high speed internet in order for it to work properly.
Chapter 4 Discussion
There are some people who view hackers as evil cyberterrorist, but other people see hackers as just an everyday prankster. I’m not in favor of harsh punishment for hackers. Instead of punishing hackers with lengthy prison sentences, the governments need to be sending the murderers, rapist, and etc. to prison for longer than a hacker. All hacking is wrong because you are taking information or programs that you’re not permitted to. It’s like trespassing. If you get caught trespassing on somebody’s property, you will get into trouble. That’s why I think that all hacking is wrong.
You should follow standard file-naming because it helps you recognize the difference between the computer files and the files that you have saved. Other users should put they’re name after the file that way you can tell who’s file it belongs to. That is if more than one user uses the same computer.

Chapter 2 Lab continued
The future of computer hardware is kind of hard to realize what may happen in the industry. If you look at the computers past, it developed very fast. Will the quick pace continue or will the technology slow itself down. Well I think that the computers won’t develop nearly as fast as they have in the past. When it doesn’t progress, everything will be smaller. They are working on making everything smaller today, but have yet to make computers as small as they want. The cases will decrease in size while monitors will continue to increase in size. Monitors will just become thinner. Memory will increase. Overall the technology will be better. Like I said before, its hard to come to a conclusion about the future when the past has been so quick in development. Development in computers has came to a steady pace in the past few years. That’s what really makes its future hazy. Who knows how long it may take for the computer to develop into mans dream machine of today.
Chapter 2 Lab
The very first picture is a picture of an external harddrive. The computer would have an internal hard drive, but I would add the external hard drive so I could be able to take my save file with me. The pictures of the two blue strips is actually just two lights. This would be used for looks. The case is a very detailed case. On the front it displays different core temperatures. This will help keep overheating from happening. The fan will help keep the case cool so it doesn’t overheat. I want to have a pair of wireless headphones in order to have a better expierience with online gaming. The sound system is see through with blue lights. It has a subwoofer in the middle with two spearkers. This would be great for music, dvds, or even games.
The mousepad is specifically designed for gaming. The mouse is a lazer gaming mouse. It helps with games due to the design and the quick response.
